Marilyn Rose Pallotta, age 89, passed away April 13, 2017.

Marilyn was born in Chariton, Iowa in 1927 to Leonard and Helen West. She was the oldest of 3 children. Because her father's position with Goodyear Tire required him to go where he was needed, she attended a few different schools in various cities until they ended up in the Akron area and she graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1945. While working as a telephone operator at Ohio Bell after graduating, Marilyn met the love of her life and husband of 58 years, Victor Pallotta.

They were married in 1948 and raised their family in Cuyahoga Falls. Marilyn took great pride in her family and in raising 4 children. Once her youngest child was in grade school, she went back to work and was at the Cathedral Buffet for 25 years where she formed great friendships. She retired in 1998 to care for her mother and eventually her husband.

Marilyn will best be remembered as a loving, kind and gentle person. Truly a lady in every sense of the word. Her warm smile immediately improved the day. She was also a no nonsense person who was the 'rock' in the family.

She was preceded in death by husband, Victor in 2006 and by daughter, Carole Curry in 1982. She is survived by children, Victor Pallotta Jr. (Diana), Janet Ritterbeck (Dave) and Michele Hardman (Kevin), 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family takes great comfort in knowing that Marilyn is watching over us with renewed perfect vision, listening to us share our memories of her and catching every word, and breathing easy knowing she was loved and did a wonderful job in always taking care of and being there for her family.
