Bruce C. Syme, 66, of Stow was born on October 1, 1950 in Orange Township, New Jersey. As a 1968 graduate of Millburn High School in Millburn, NJ, Bruce received his bachelor's degree in engineering from Ohio University in the spring of 1972. After graduation, Bruce began a 30-year career at MACtac, eventually becoming the Executive Vice President of Engineering. Upon retirement from MACtac, Bruce spent most of his time with his children & grandchildren. His true passion was his family, spending most of his free time at their many activities and events. He loved to cook, enjoyed watching the Olympics & sporting events, and loved the American flag.

He is survived by his loving children Dianne (Michael) Maybaum, Kimberly (Robert) Gudin, Andrew Syme (Rachel Bright), and Jeffrey Syme (Laura Thompson), grandchildren Megan Maybaum, Sydney Maybaum, Allyson Gudin, & Evan Gudin. He also leaves behind his brother John (Marilyn) Syme & his sister Betty Syme. Bruce is preceded in death by his wife Sandra L. Syme & his parents Campbell D. Syme & Marian D. Syme.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Hospice of the Western Reserve.

Visitation and service were held at the Redmon Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Case officiating. Internment Silver Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bruce's memory to the American Cancer Society of Western Reserve Hospice.
