"Together Again"

BARBARA MAY ADKINS (nee Harner) was born on October 25,1942 and went to our lord and to join her loving family who preceded her on September 8, 2016. Barbara was a loving daughter and wife. She was mother to her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her mother, Alice Harner, her father, Warren Harner, her children Timothy Adkins and Teddy Adkins, and her loving husband James Adkins. She is survived by her three children; Jeffrey (Amy) Adkins of Streetsboro, Ohio, Christopher Adkins of Streetsboro, Ohio and David (Tammy) Adkins of Ravenna, Ohio. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren; Chris, Trisha, Joseph, and James, Christopher and Patrick, Julia, Travis, Matthew and Stephen and her 7 great grandchildren; Emma and Ethan, Rozalia, Lily and Joseph Jr., Abel, and Tommy Joe. Affectionately known as Grandma Barb, she made a home for her family for over 47 years in Streetsboro, Ohio. During the time she lived in Streetsboro, she worked for many years as the hostess/wedding coordinator at Sundance Valley Party Center until they closed down, at which time she went to work for Birchwood Party Center in Walton Hills, Ohio, where she worked for over 30 years until she retired in 2013. She and her loving husband James, who was her best friend for life, enjoyed the time they spent together traveling, being at home cooking, collecting teapots and many different antiques, working in her yard doing landscaping, going to garage sales and auctions, and many, many other things. She had a zest for life that kept her constantly busy, whether she was working or traveling or doing anything that she enjoyed. She helped many people with many different things and thoroughly enjoyed talking and spending time with her friends during her life. She was what most people would call old school, growing up in an era and a time where people worked hard, saved their money and appreciated everything life had to offer her. She will be remembered for many things but none as important as for the love and devotion she showed toward our father James during his struggle with cancer for the last 7 years of his life. Our entire family would like to thank all of her friends and ours for their thoughts and prayers during the past few years of her life. Mom, we love you very much and will miss you. Rest in peace!
