Barbara Wissler Letts died July 17, 2014 after an extended illness, ALS. She was 57.

According to her family, she never gave in and never allowed the disease to define her.

Born in Madison, Wisconsin, to the late Kay and Dick Wissler and raised in Hudson, she attended Hudson High School and was an award-winning artist growing up. She earned a bachelor of fine arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University. After college she moved to Dallas and started a 20+ year career with Neopost, based in Hayward, California. Multiple promotions moved her west to Orange County, California and then to Danville, California.

Through her successful business career, active participation with Landmark Education, and involvement at her children's Greenbrook School, she inspired, encouraged and challenged those around her. She produced exceptional results, made it creative and fun and established lifelong relationships along the way.

Mrs. Letts is survived by her husband, Greg, her son, Hayden, her daughter, Kathryn and her brother, Randy Wissler of Cambridge; Aunt Anne Ruffner of Stow, Aunt Shirley and Uncle Ron Freshley of Hudson; cousins Ron (Amy) Ruffner and Diane (Ralph) Grant of Florida, Anne (Roger Holnback) Howard of Virginia, Keith (Amanda) Ruffner of Silver Lake and Dan (Jill) Freshley of Cincinnati.

A memorial picnic is planned for Sept. 13 in Danville, California.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Augie's Quest to find a cure, or the ALS Association, which supports patients and their families.
