Jennie M. Coffield

Longtime resident, member of Tallmadge United Methodist Church,

former Tallmadge High School cook

Jennie M. Coffield, 92, of Tallmadge died May 7, 2014.

Born in Denver, Colo., Mrs. Coffield had lived in Tallmadge since 1956. She retired from Tallmadge High School as a cook in 1984 with 20 years of service, and during World War II she worked at Denver Medical Depot. She was a member of Tallmadge United Methodist Church since 1956, where she taught Sunday School, and a member of Tallmadge Prime Timers, Red Hatters, Girl Scouts and AARP. She volunteered for the Red Cross and the Summit County Board of Elections polling booths.

Preceded in death by her husband, Ray; sisters, Carmen Baca and Ida Phelps; brothers, George, Albert and Robert Moreno, she is survived by her daughter, Diana (Kenneth) Jones of Tallmadge; son, Patrick Coffield of Gainesville, Fla.; grandson, Brett Jones; many nieces and nephews; and her four legged grandson, Snowball.
