Barbara L. Breedon of Hudson, Ohio died peacefully March 12 in the company of her family.

Mrs. Breedon was an instructor at Weaver Sheltered Workshop for more than 30 years. She also sewed hundreds of Pinky Puppets for Akron Children's Hospital, created sewn and knitted gifts, made fabulous meals, baked many delicious cookies and enjoyed playing bridge with her longtime bridge group.

She was very proud of her children: watercolorist William Breedon, high energy physicist Dr. Richard Breedon and daughter, Barbara Van Blarcum. She was supportive to her late husband Edward and his wide range of interests in Ford Model As, Western Reserve architecture, Kent State University, Boy Scouts and the Masonic Lodge.

Daughter of Earl and Elsie Leatherman and sister of Alfred, Barbara was born April 4, 1929, grew up in Akron with friends Judy and Mary, attended Buchtel High School, received a BFA at The Ohio State University and was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. She was a true Buckeye, very dedicated to NE Ohio geography, history and issues.

In addition to her children, she leaves her brother, and grandchildren Erik, Amy, Franz, Earl and Miles, dedicated son-in-law Curt Van Blarcum and daughter-in-law Pattaratorn Chirapravati, Ph.D.

The family suggests memorial donations to the Hudson Heritage Association, P.O. Box 2218, Hudson, OH 44236. Both Mr. and Mrs. Breedon were charter members of the group formed in 1962.

Graveside services were at Markillie Cemetery. Arrangements handled by Johnson-Romito Funeral Home in Hudson.
