Nancy Ann Sedlacek, 82, died peacefully and surrounded by family March 2, 2014.

Mrs. Sedlacek was born Aug. 3, 1931 in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from Brush High School in South Euclid and attended Bowling Green University.

In 1953, she married the love of her life Larry J. Sedlacek, and they had three sons. In 1958, the growing family moved to Hudson where Mrs. Sedlacek lived until her death.

The Hudson City Schools employed her for 34 years as a teacher's aide in thehigh school until her retirement 2001.

Mrs. Sedlacek was affectionately known as the "Ticket Lady" due to her role selling and collecting tickets for decades at nearly all Hudson High School sporting events. She was a champion for the underdog and always willing to assist a student in need.

She was a member of the Congregational Church of Hudson and active in a wide range of service organizations: the PTA, PTO, PTX, League for Service, and chairing the annual Ice Cream Social. Her dedication to giving back to the community inspired her family to follow her example.

Her parents Cerolina and Roland, as well as her loving husband of 43 years, Larry, preceded Mrs. Sedlacek in death.

She is survived by her sister Jane (John) Vold and her sons: Bill (Shelley) of Hudson, Rob (Cynthia) of Boca Raton, Fla., and Jim (Linda) of Akron. She also had six grandchildren: Eric and Courtney, Justin and Megan, Danielle and Christopher; and two great-grandchildren Edward and James.

There was a memorial service March 8 at the Congregational Church in Hudson.
