Former Aurora resident
Services were Jan. 21 at Harper and Dunnichay Funeral Home in Frankton, Ind. for David Anton Vieland, 59, of Anderson, Ind., who died Jan. 16, 2014 after battling cancer for many years.
Born in 1954 in Ravenna, he grew up in Mantua and was a 1972 graduate of Crestwood High School.
He resided in Aurora for more than 25 years, where he raised his son Daniel while married to previous wife Marlene. He was founder and owner of Aurora Painting after many years of being employed as a truck driver for Air Products and various other companies.
In 2003, he moved to Anderson, Ind. and married Cindy Vieland, and helped to raise stepchildren Nicholas Thomas and Ricque Moreno. He continued his painting business and returned to the trucking industry.
In addition to his second wife, his son and spouse Tracy and his two stepchildren, survivors include his mother Marion Vieland; grandchildren Chase and Carter Vieland; brother Richard (Flora) Vieland; sister Karen (Dan) Kuntzman; and nieces and nephews Carrie Vieland, Elizabeth Ursetti, Nathan Vieland, Steven Vieland and Matthew Kuntzman.
He was preceded in death by his father William Vieland and his grandparents Anton and Elizabeth Vieland.
