Mantua graduate, truck driver
A memorial service to celebrate the l ife of Robert A. Payden, 74, of Aurora will take place May 26, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service on Route 44 at Pioneer Trail in Mantua.
He died May 12, 2013 at University Hospitals-Geauga Regional Medical Center. Born in Ravenna on June 1, 1938, he was the son of the late Walter and Jean (Brown) Payden. A graduate of the 1958 Class of Mantua High School, he had been a resident of Aurora the past 25 years.
Mr. Payden had been employed as a truck driver for Manfredi Motor Transit. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially football, baseball and basketball. On March 7, 1959, he married Barbara W. (White) Payden, who survives at their home.
Also surviving are his children Dan (Judi) Payden and Robin Payden both of Aurora and Mark (Lisa) Payden of Holly Springs, N.C.; sisters Sharon Brown of Mentor and Harriet (Don) Chalker of Michigan; and grandchildren Trey, Marcus and Madalyn.
Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Rescue Village, 15463 Chillicothe Road, Russell Township 44072.
