Brother of local resident

A Mass of Christian Burial was to be celebrated today (Feb. 6) at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua, with the Rev. Michael Garvey officiating, for Paul P. Sabo, 90, who died Feb. 2, 2013 at his home in Hiram.

Born in Nanty Glo, Pa., on April 23, 1922, he was the son of the late John and Anne (Mihalec) Sabo. Formerly of Garfield Heights, he had lived in the Hiram area the past 14 years.

He was employed at Osborne Manufacturing Co. in Cleveland as a supervisor, retiring in 1984 after 42 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and will be remembered by his family as "Being Boss." On Jan. 29, 1945, he married Helen P. (Palko) Sabo, who preceded him in death on Dec. 4, 1988.

Also preceding him was his sister Mary and brothers Theodore, George, Thomas and John Sabo.

Survivors include his sons Paul J. (Rose) Sabo of Nevada, Michael J. (Barbara) Sabo of Cleveland and Thomas E. Sabo of Hiram; daughter Suzanne (David Sheha) Sabo of Seven Hills; brother Donald Sabo of Aurora; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Burial is in All Saints Cemetery in Northfield, where he was to be receive a military tribute by a U.S.Navy honor guard team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post 193.
