Ernst & Young partner

Services are planned for Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. at the Church in Aurora for Edwin J. Kenney, 85, of Aurora, who died Jan. 8, 2013, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Chicago, he grew up in Philadelphia, and served in the U.S. Army in Japan during World War II.

He joined the international accounting firm Ernst and Ernst's Cleveland office (later Ernst & Young) in 1950 after graduation from Case Western Reserve University and became a partner in 1964.

He served on the Cleveland office audit staff, was partner in charge of personnel for the North Central District and concluded his career in the national office in 1982.

He was a member of the AICPA and Ohio Society of CPAs and many other professional organizations. He served on the board of the Chagrin Valley Country club on two occasions, and for 25 years he was on the board of State Troopers of Ohio.

He enjoyed golfing, attending Aurora High School sporting events and had season tickets for the Cleveland Browns for 45 years.

Survivors include his wife Susan K.; sons Jeffrey J. (Martha) of Cary, N.C., Tod J. (Patricia) of Burlington, Conn. and Brad M. of Columbus; and 10 grandchildren.
