Cuyahoga Falls resident for more than 60 years

Josephine "Jo" Kane, 95, died on Dec. 11, 2012, in Worthington.

Born in Buffalo, N.Y. on Jan. 13, 1917 to the late Peter and Nellie Subik, she had been a Cuyahoga Falls resident for more than 60 years, before moving to the Columbus area to be closer to family. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She also was an avid bridge player at the Cuyahoga Falls Women's City Club for years and volunteered countless hours to Children's Hospital making "Pinky Puppets" for sick children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George in 2008. She is survived by her son Robert (Lorraine) Kane of Vero Beach, Fla.; Marie Ann Kane of Westerville; granddaughter Kristen Marie (David) Chambers of Lewis Center; and two great-grandchildren William and Anna Marie Chambers, in addition to many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 14, at St Joseph Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gennersaret, Inc PO Box 1253 Cuyahoga Falls 44223.
