The Twinsburg Band Boosters has a number of upcoming events.

The Tiger Marching Band Showcase, under the direction of Ryan Bonitz, Samantha Gosset and student-teacher Robyn King, will be Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. in the Twinsburg High School auditorium. All band concerts are free to the public.

The Boosters also congratulate the following R.B. Chamberlin Middle School Tiger Band students for being selected to the OMEA District 6 Honor Band Festival, including Aiden, eighth grade, percussion; Alijah, eighth grade, clarinet; Theresa, eighth grade, flute; and Logan, eighth grade, clarinet.

Students were selected from a pool of 300 musicians from OMEA District 6 (Summit, Portage, Medina and Wayne counties). The students will spend Nov. 15 on the campus of the College of Wooster, with a concert on Nov. 16.

Congratulations to Tom Resnick, THS, RBC and Dodge Intermediate School music educator who was recently selected to speak at the 2019 OMEA Professional Development Conference in Cleveland, from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, 2019.

Resnick’s session was selected from a pool of more than 300 submissions from around the state and beyond. Resnick’s session is entitled "In Concert with the THS/RBC Drums." THS and RBC adapted music classes are very unique performing ensembles, with few groups like them in Ohio. Resnick says he is excited to feature talented drummers from THS and RBC at the OMEA Conference.

Also speaking (and drumming) with Resnick will be THS educator Matt Socrates. Resnick, Socrates and the talented Tigers will perform Feb. 1, 2019, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Marriott Ballroom ABC.
