The city of Aurora held its 15th annual Classic Car Show at Sunny Lake Park. The park was the perfect backdrop to enjoy about 80 classic cars of all makes and models.

Those who registered cars into the show voted for awards in the following categories: Best of Show, Best GM, Best Ford, Best Chrysler, Best Truck, Best Street Rod, Best Partially Restored, Best Other, and Best Motorcycle. Everyone in attendance voted for People’s Choice.

A 1963 Chevy Impala was selected as Best of Show, and the People’s Choice Award went to a 1955 Ford Fairlane. Winners were announced by Mayor Ann Womer Benjamin and trophies were handed out by Councilman Jim Vaca, who worked with long-time Aurora resident Alan Shorr to make this event a reality 15 years ago. Both Mr. Vaca and Mr. Shorr displayed their personal classic vehicles at the event.

Rotary Club of Aurora and the teenagers of the Interact Club provided support to help make the event a success.
