CUYAHOGA FALLS — The Sept. 25 trial of a former Cuyahoga Falls High School guidance counselor charged with sexual battery was rescheduled for Dec. 11 at a pretrial hearing Monday, said Tamara Keefer, bailiff for Summit County Common Pleas Judge Amy Corrigall Jones.

Keefer said that 37-year-old 16th Street resident Rebecca A. Sparrow is also scheduled for a Nov. 19 final pretrial hearing.

A Summit County grand jury indicted Sparrow in April on a third-degree felony charge of sexual battery in connection with an allegation that she engaged in "sexual conduct" with a Cuyahoga Falls High School student in 2016. The school district placed her on administrative leave in January and she resigned in April.

Sparrow is free on a personal bond and she is barred from contacting the alleged victim in the case, according to court records.
