Forgery

Check allegedly forged: A 19-year-old Cleveland man was charged with forgery and passing bad checks, both fifth-degree felonies, after police responded to a report that the man tried to cash a forged check for approximately $934. The man was taken to Solon City Jail.

Disorderly conduct

Man allegedly urinated in parking lot: A Darrow Park Drive man, 50, was cited with disorderly conduct while intoxicated after police responded to a report that the man urinated in a Ravenna Road business parking lot during the early evening Aug. 23. Police said the man told them he had a condition that caused him to have sudden urges to urinate.

Drug possession

Man overdosed: A Presidential Parkway man, 28, was charged with fifth-degree felony drug possession and first-degree misdemeanor drug abuse instruments possession after police responded to a report that the man had overdosed in his home Aug. 22. Police said the man was treated at the scene, revived, and was taken to a hospital for further treatment. He was later taken to Summit County Jail. Police said they found the man in possession of fentanyl and a syringe.

Marijuana smelled: A Ravenna Road man, 19, and woman, 18, were cited with drug possession and the man was cited with drug paraphernalia possession after police responded to a report of a strong odor of marijuana and found the man and woman in a vehicle in the parking lot of their apartment complex late in the evening Aug. 21. Police said they found the man and woman in possession of a small amount of suspected marijuana and the man in possession of a marijuana pipe and a marijuana grinder, both with suspected marijuana residue on them.

Man stopped for speeding: A Cleveland Heights man, 21, was cited with drug possession, drug paraphernalia possession, speeding and open container after police said they clocked his vehicle’s speed at 79 mph in a 65 mph zone and stopped it on Interstate 480 eastbound at about 2:40 a.m. Aug. 16. Police said they found a small amount of suspected marijuana, a scale with suspected marijuana residue on it and an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.

Breaking and entering

Garage broken into: A 22-year-old Oakwood man was charged with fifth-degree felony breaking and entering after police responded to a burglar alarm at a Ravenna Road business at about 10:45 p.m. Aug. 14. Police said they found a window of a garage on the business’ property broken, the garage door open and that the man allegedly entered the garage. He was taken to Solon City Jail.

Operating a vehicle

under the influence

Man stopped for traffic violations: A Dayflower Drive man, 26, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs, drug test refusal, marijuana possession, disobeying a traffic control device, and driving left of center after police stopped his vehicle on Belmeadow Drive at about 10 p.m. Aug. 14. Police said the man was suspected of having used marijuana. He was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.

Man stopped for speeding: A Streetsboro man, 35, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content, speeding, reckless operation, and turn signals after police clocked his vehicle at 102 mph in a 65 mph zone and stopped it on Interstate 480 at Route 82 at a little after 3 a.m. Aug. 12. Police said the man’s BAC measured at 0.212 percent, more than twice the 0.08 percent legal limit. The man was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released to a family member on a 10 percent of $2,500 bond.

Bedford police turn man over: Bedford police reported Aug. 14 that they had in custody a Macedonia man, 63, wanted by Stow Municipal Court for failing to appear in court on a driving under suspension charge filed by Twinsburg police. The man was given a court date and released on a $500 bond.

Man wanted by court: Westlake police reported Aug. 14 that they had in custody a Cleveland man, 25, wanted by Stow Municipal Court for failing to appear in court on driving under suspension and child restraint charges filed by Twinsburg police. The man was held in Solon City Jail on a 10 percent of $5,000 bond.
