The 12th Annual Paw Fest ("A Dog’s Day of Fun") is planned for Sunday, Sept. 16, at Stow’s Bow Wow Beach Dog Park, 5027 Stow Road, Stow,. Along with the support of the city of Stow, the sponsoring Stow-Munroe Falls Lions Club members will be ready to entertain all canines and their owners.

This year’s event is once again being dedicated to Service Dogs —- those canines who are especially trained to help individuals with a variety of needs to live a normal life.

PAW FEST 2018 is a free event beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m. Parking will be available for a donation of $1, or through a donation of used eyeglasses - one of the many eye care projects the Lions Club maintains throughout the year.

Dog contests this year will once again be: Best Dog Costume in a Parade; Owner/?Dog Look-A-Like; Best Dog Trick and Longest and Shortest Dog tails - judges will be local radio/?TV personalities. Rescue groups, dog-related vendors and food will be on site.

Tickets for a large gift raffle will be sold throughout the day with the drawing occurring at 3 p.m

Proceeds from this popular Lion’s Club fund raiser benefits assistance/?service dogs (Pilot Dogs), eye care foundations, and assisting individuals who have impaired vision through eye exams, glasses, and assistance dogs.

The club continues their yearly projects of conducting free preschool eye checks (soon with adults); sponsorship of the bi-monthly American Red Cross blood drives in Stow, and helping both Munroe Falls and Stow residents throughout the year.
