HUDSON — A senior citizens community is celebrating a number of changes as August draws to a close.

Hudson Grande Senior Living, at 5400 Darrow Road in Hudson and formerly The Gables of Hudson, reopened Aug. 30 with Arrow Senior Living as the owner/operator. Arrow Senior Living, a national investment firm, also KentRidge Senior Living, located in Kent, in partnership with Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors.

The community was purchased from Sentio Healthcare of Florida, according to Cheryl Walker, executive director of Hudson Grande. The community was built five years ago, she added.

Along with the new owners and new name, Hudson Grande has a new look following an extensive remodeling project completed in July. Updates include new carpet, paint and all new furnishings; repairs to the exterior, including the parking lot; and added advanced technology for resident safety, according to a message to community members.

"We’re really excited," Walker said. "We’ve done a total remodel of the community so that the inside is as elegant as the name."

Dining services have been expanded to all-day dining from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. And transportation services have been enhanced by adding private chauffeur services.

Hudson Grande Senior Living has 76 apartment-suites that are pet-friendly and include "smart design" age-friendly features, such as walk-in showers with grab bars, wide doorways and well-lit kitchenettes with easy-pull cabinet handles. On-site amenities also include a beauty salon, fitness center, movie theater and indoor pool.

Hudson Grande Senior Living encourages residents to enjoy an independent lifestyle.
