SAGAMORE HILLS — Police are asking for the public's help locating a suspicious person who may have tried to break into an Ashford Glen Lane home Thursday around 5:15 p.m.

A witness told police the man walked from a nearby trail and looked in a box which was on the homeowner's patio. The man then walked to the rear door of the home. The homeowner believed he was going to enter the home. However, she startled him somehow and he jumped on his bicycle and took off.

Sagamore Hills Police arrived in less than 1 minute, according to the call log. About nine officers from Sagamore Hills, Macedonia, Northfield Village and the Summit County Sheriff's Office searched the area, including the nearby bike trails, but could not find the man.

The man was described as white, in his early 20s, with long sandy brown hair combed over his head, no shirt, navy blue shorts, possibly carrying a backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sagamore Hills Police Department at 330-468-0900.
