Heartsaver CPR

Southeastern Med is offering a Heartsaver CPR/AED class on Monday, Aug. 6, beginning at 5 p.m., in the Morrison Room. The cost for the class is $35. CPR and first aid training will be taught. Call 740-439-8168 to register.

Operation Dry Bottoms

Operation Dry Bottoms free diaper distribution, for Guernsey County residents who qualify, will take place on Friday, Aug. 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Cambridge. Photo ID and a medical card for the child are required. For more information, call the church at 740-432-7508.

Fill the bus

United Way of Guernsey, Monroe and Noble Counties will be outside of Walmart on Aug. 3 and 4 accepting donations of backpacks and school supplies for children in our area. Walmart cashiers will also offer customers the opportunity to donate at the cash register. Root beer floats will be available for a donation to United Way.

Meeting notice

A meeting of the The Guernsey County Planning Commission & Community Improvement Corporation will will take place on Friday, Aug. 3 immediately following the CIC meeting that starts at 8 am. Both meetings will take place in the CIC conference room, 9900 Brick Church Road, Suite 2, Cambridge.

Book Sale

The New Concord Friends of the Library will have their annual Book Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, at the New Concord Public Library. Books, DVD’s and more will be offered at bargain prices. A "Buck-a-Bag" sale starts at 2 p.m. The Library is located at 78 W. Main St., New Concord. For more information, call 740-826-4184. 

Meeting canceled

The Monroe Township Board of Trustees meeting scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 2, has been canceled. The next meeting will be Thursday, Aug. 16 at 8 p.m. at the Monroe Township building.
