Breaking and entering

Game systems stolen from store: A Howe Avenue store employee reported someone broke into the store by smashing the front glass door and took eight video game systems totaling about $2,400 in value early in the morning June 29.

Theft

ATVs stolen from shed: A Fickey Drive man and woman reported June 29 that someone took an approximately $1,500 all terrain vehicle and a children's ATV of unspecified value from a locked shed outside their home since the day before. The man said he had already found the children's ATV on nearby Royalwood Drive. Police said it is unknown how the shed was entered.

Purse later found: An Aycliffe Lane woman reported June 29 that someone took her purse containing several unidentified prescription medications, $300, three credit cards, a driver's license and other items from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked outside her home during the night. Police said the purse was later found with some items still in it. No fraudulent charges to the credit cards were reported.

License plate stolen: A Bailey Road woman reported June 29 that someone took the temporary license plate off her vehicle while it was parked outside her home during the night.

Rings stolen from home: A 4th Street man reported June 25 that someone stole two gold rings, one with diamonds, totaling about $2,300 in value from his home during the previous three weeks. The man said he did not know who might have done it.

Tools taken from garage: A 6th Street man reported June 28 that someone took tools totaling about $50 in value from his unlocked garage during the night.

Bike taken from porch: A Hudson Drive man reported someone took his approximately $130 bicycle from his front porch during the late morning June 25.

Phone stolen from vehicle: A Tallmadge woman reported someone took her approximately $530 cell phone from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked outside a Main Street business during the early evening June 25.

Trash cans taken: An 18th Street woman reported someone took her two city-owned trash cans totaling about $150 in value from in front of her home during the previous two days.

Criminal mischief

Liquid thrown on jail heater: A 47-year-old Akron man was charged with criminal damaging after he allegedly threw water and milk onto a space heater while incarcerated in Cuyahoga Falls City Jail June 29. Police said the heater was plugged in at the time.

Littering

Dirt and sod dumped: A woman representing a Hudson Drive church reported June 27 that someone had been dumping piles of dirt and sod on the church's parking lot during the previous two weeks. Police said there were no leads or suspects.

Criminal damaging

Tire sliced: A Heather Lane woman reported June 26 that someone sliced a piece out of one of her vehicle's tires while it was parked outside her home since the evening before. Police said the damage was estimated at about $150.

Screen cut: A 2nd Street woman reported June 26 that someone cut the screen on her home's rear door during the previous few days. Police said the damage was estimated at $20.

Vehicle back window broken: A 7th Street man reported June 25 that someone broke his vehicle's back window with a metal ball bearing while the vehicle was parked outside his home during the night. Police said the damage was estimated at about $500.

Bush damaged: A Curtis Avenue man reported June 25 that someone damaged the branches and roots of a bush outside his home earlier in the month. Police said the damage was estimated at about $25.

Amphitheater chair broken: An Akron boy, 14, was charged with misdemeanor damaging and he and a Cuyahoga Falls boy, 13, were charged with curfew after police responded to a report that the boys were at the Front Street amphitheater at about 11:40 p.m. June 24. Police said a city employee reported seeing the Akron boy jumping up and down on a amphitheater chair, with the damage estimated at about $200. The boys were referred to the city's juvenile diversion program and released to their parents.

Car window smashed: A Lancaster Street woman reported June 22 that someone smashed one of her car's side windows while it was parked outside her home during the night. Police said the damage is estimated at about $200.

Disorderly conduct

Man found on highway ramp: An Akron man, 54, was cited with disorderly conduct while intoxicated after police said they found the man on the Route 8 southbound exit ramp to Howe Avenue stumbling into traffic at about 9:20 p.m. June 25. Police said the man was taken to a detox facility.

Burglary

Guns and computers stolen: A Sackett Avenue man reported someone broke into his home by breaking a lock and took a rifle, a handgun and four tablet computers totaling about $1,250 in value during the afternoon or early evening June 23.
