AAA has triggered a traffic advisory for Ohio vacationers returing home from Myrtle Beach. To avoid lengthy delays, a 17-mile detour is suggested. The detour instructions are: as you approach the merger of I-77 and I-81, take exit 32 to merge onto I-81 North toward Roanoke; 16.5 miles later, take exit 98 for VA-100 North toward Dublin/Pearisburg; take route 100 North for almost 25 miles, through Pearisburg; keep left at the fork towards US 460 West; in 23 miles, turn right to re-enter I-77 North.
The Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities will be closed July 4-6. They will resume normal hours on Monday, July 9. For emergencies, call 740-260-3206.
Chip and seal
Center Township Trustees advise residents that, weather permitting, chip and seal on township roadways will be July 10 through July 14. Please be aware of temporary road closures during this process.
The New Concord Area Board of Trade will sponsor The New Concord Farmers’ Market each Monday evening, from 4 to 7 p.m., beginning July 9 and continuing through October 8, at the New Concord Elementary School. The vendor fee is $50 for the entire season (14 market days) or $10 per market day.
