Police Reports is a sampling of incidents responded to by Aurora police. It is not intended to be all-inclusive.

Man arrested on warrant: A 22-year-old Cleveland man was arrested June 26 on a warrant charging him with theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. On Nov. 24, 2016, he allegedly possessed a stolen knit cap worth $29.99, according to Aurora police.

Felony breaking and entering: Officers arrested 40-year-old William G. Sears of Bedford on June 25 and charged him with breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony. On June 12, Sears allegedly kicked in the door of a detached garage in the 1100 block of Bryce Avenue, went inside and stole personal belongings and property, according to Aurora police.

Man turned self in on warrant: An Aurora man turned himself in to police June 25 on a felony warrant, was booked and transported to the Portage County jail without incident, according to Aurora police.

One-car crash: A Kent man was charged June 24 with OVI and cited for failure to control after police were dispatched to a location on South Chillicothe Road where a car had hit a landscaping barrier. The man was brought back to the police station, booked and released to a family member after signing a personal recognizance bond, according to Aurora police.

Cell phone taken from vehicle: A Mantua man showed up June 23 at the police station to report that while patronizing several businesses in Aurora, he noticed his iPhone had been stolen from his vehicle. The man was unable to give officers the exact location of the theft.

Electronics taken from vehicle: Officers took a report June 23 from a California man who reported several items, including an iPhone and an iPad, were stolen from his vehicle while he was out at several different locations in the area of Barrington Town Square Drive.

Private property crash: A North Canton man and an Akron woman were involved June 23 in a private property traffic crash at a business on South Chillicothe Road. They exchanged insurance information and a police report was completed. There were no injuries.

High beam warning: A Euclid woman's vehicle was stopped June 22 on North Aurora Road for failure to dim her high beams. She was given a verbal warning.

Domestic violence arrest: A 53-year-old Orchard Avenue woman was arrested June 21 and charged with domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor, after she allegedly slapped her brother in the head and face multiple times during a verbal argument that evening, according to Aurora police.

Tax fraud reported: A city resident reported June 21 that she was the victim of tax fraud. She has since changed accountants and is in the process of reporting the matter to the IRS.
