SAGAMORE HILLS — A township man who is a registered sex offender has been arrested after investigators found him in possession of alleged "child pornography," the Summit County Sheriff's Office said in a news release Wednesday.
According to the release, Jonathan E. Myers, 28, is charged with second-degree felony pandering obscenities involving minors, as well as a parole violation.
The sheriff's office said it and the Ohio Adult Parole Authority began an investigation Wednesday that included a search of Myers' home, where "images depicting minors engaging in sexual activity" were allegedly found. The sheriff's office said several electronic storage devices, including thumb drives, a computer, a gaming system, a cell phone and a tablet computer were seized as evidence and Myers was taken to Summit County Jail.
The sheriff's office registered sex offender database lists Myers' address as on Deerfield Drive and identifies him as a Tier II sex offender, which requires registry with the sheriff's office every six months for 25 years.
According to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, Myers was incarcerated in the Lorain Correctional Institution from January 2017 to February 2018 after he was convicted in Mahoning County of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and gross sexual imposition, both fourth-degree felonies.
