The next Hudson Job Search will be June 18, with sign-in at 7:15 p.m. and the program beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Speaker will be author and blogger Abby Kohut, president and recruiting consultant for Staffing Symphony, LLC. She was selected as part of Fast Company Magazine’s Top 100 Influential People Online in 2010 and named as one of "The Monster 11 for 2011: Career Experts Who Can Help Your Job Search." She was also named one of "15 Career Experts Not to Miss on Twitter."
Kohut will speak on "Exposing the Hidden Job Market" and discuss the most effective ways to get employed — and what recruiters know and won’t tell candidates.
"People should send their resumes by snail mail," she says. "Recruiters don’t get real mail anymore, or faxes for that matter."
Think nobody reads a resume more than two pages long?
"Nonsense," Abby says. "It’s all about the accomplishments you list and the keywords that you use."
