The Summit County OVI Task Force announced it expects to operate at least two OVI checkpoints in the county from 10 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday.

This will be the third time the task force will have operated checkpoints during the previous month. On April 27-28, two checkpoints resulted in seven OVI arrests and two checkpoints in Coventry Township netted eight arrests April 13-14.

Some arrests were made at the checkpoints themselves while others were made by police on nearby streets conducting saturation patrols in connection with the checkpoints.

Police also issued a number of non-OVI charges and citations as a result of the checkpoints.
