CUYAHOGA FALLS — A house fire killed a dog at 806 Clover Avenue Tuesday morning, said Deputy Fire Marshal Tom Carano.

"There were two dogs. One dog made it out, the other didn’t" said Carano.

Carano said no one else was at home at the time of the fire. The fire department responded after two neighbors reported the house was on fire at around 8:10 a.m., said Carano. The surviving dog got out when firefighters entered the home, he said.

According to Carano the home’s kitchen sustained fire damage and the rest of the house sustained smoke damage. The cause is under investigation and the family is staying with relatives, he added.

"We know it originated in the kitchen, but we don’t have a cause yet," he said.
