Ballot proofs available March 20 and 21
WOOSTER — Ballot proofs for the May 8, 2018 Primary Election will be available for public inspection between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20 and Wednesday, March 21 at the Wayne County Board of Elections at 200 Vanover Street (Second Floor), Wooster.
Ballot proofs will also be posted on the Wayne County Board of Elections website at www.votewayne.org on the same dates.
Information session offered at Pomerene
MILLERSBURG — Learn about University of Akron’s programs and courses designed for area professionals with an education and information session in Pomerene Hospital’s auditorium on Wednesday, March 21 from 1-3 pm. Light refreshments will be served.
Trio to perform at COW
WOOSTER — JAY trio, a violin, clarinet and piano trio based in Northeast Ohio, will perform a free concert titled "Dancing in the Spring" at the College of Wooster's Gault Recital Hall on Friday, March 30 at 7 p.m.
The ensemble, which was formed in 2012 as the Aurora Trio, consists of Jennifer Magistrelli, clarinetist; Andréa Belding Elson, violinist; and Yuka Nakayama-Lewicki, pianist. They have presented concerts at numerous colleges and other venues in Ohio, Indianapolis and Geneva, N.Y., and have been featured several times on WCLV 104.9 FM, Cleveland's classical music station.
All three musicians are active performers and educators in Northeast Ohio. Ms. Magistrelli is a member of ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in Columbus and is on faculty at the Aurora School of Music in Aurora. Ms. Belding Elson is concertmaster of the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra and violinist for the band Seafair. Dr. Nakayama-Lewicki is on faculty at the College of Wooster, Kent State University Stark Campus and the University of Akron. The March 30 program will consist of works depicting various styles of dance by various composers of different nationalities.
Included in the program is the rarely performed "Invitation to the Castle" by Francis Poulenc. More information can be found at www.wooster.edu/news/events/.
Deadline to register to vote is April 9
MILLERSBURG — Monday, April 9 is the deadline to register to vote or change your name or address for May 8, 2018 Primary Election. Residents can register at the Holmes County Board of Elections located in the Clinton Street Office Building at 75 E. Clinton St., Suite 108 in Millersburg. The Board of Elections office is open weekdays from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. On Monday, April 9, the office will be open until 9 p.m. Registration forms are also available at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles or at the Holmes County District Public Library. Triway to have 5K Color Run Run
Triway Post Prom will have an untimed 5K Color Fun Run for all at 1 p.m. April 15 at Triway High School. Register online at Events.myschoolcolorrun.com. Register by March 30 to guarantee a race bib, color packet and T-shirt.
