LOUDONVILLE — Fresh off its first live performances with the Loudonville High musical comedy "You're In Town" last weekend, the renovated Ohio Theatre will show its first movie this weekend, along with hosting a fashion show.
Formal grand opening activities will be delayed, however, Manager Sally Hollenbach reported.
"Unfortunately, we've had to make a change with the grand reopening celebration weekend," Hollenbach said. "We still have some issues with inspections that are not resolved yet. With things still up in the air as to what will need to happen, it has been decided that we are going to have to wait on the big grand reopening celebration weekend until everything is totally ready.
"We will do a "soft opening" for now with a big celebration and recognition later in the spring after all of the issues are fully resolved. Watch for details, because you won't want to miss it."
"The weekend of March 23-25 we will start showing movies again," she said.
The first movie will be "The Greatest Showman." Ticket prices for movies are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $3 for kids ages 3-18. Kids 2 years old and younger are admitted for free. Movie times will be Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and a Sunday afternoon matinee at 2 p.m.
A fashion show will be staged on Saturday, March 24 at 4:30 p.m. with the Loudonville based clothing boutique, The Indigo Owl, owned by Ashley Zickefoose, the wife of Dr. Dakota Zickefoose of Strive Health Chiropractic and Strive Health Fitness. Tickets for the fashion show are $3, which will include a 10 percent off coupon to shop at the store.
Easter weekend, March 30 and April 1, the Loudonville Fraternal Order of Eagles along with the Women's Axillary will sponsor the movie "Peter Rabbit" for the weekend. Every child 12 years old and younger, along with one adult, will get in for free. They also will get a free small popcorn to enjoy during the movie.
The weekend of April 6-8 the theater will show the movie "Black Panther."
Then from April 12 through the 15, Mohican Community Theatre will present the play "Steel Magnolias."
