Spaghetti dinner planned

The First Baptist Church on Shady Lane in Barnesville will have a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, March 10 from noon until 6 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Mission Fund. Pre-sale tickets are available for $8.

1963 BHS 55th class reunion meeting set

JEDD meeting set

The annual meeting of the Warren Township and Village of Barnesville Joint Economic Development District Board of Directors for District 1 will take place at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14 followed by a meeting of the District 2 Board of Directors at 5:30 p.m. Both meetings will take place in the Village Administrator’s Office at the Barnesville Water Department, 126 E. Church St., Barnesville. 

Youth baseball sign-ups set

Barnesville Youth Baseball will have sign-ups for Mighty Mites, Broncos and Pony aged kids. Sign-ups will be held Tuesday, March 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Albert S. George Youth Center. Contracts are available at all school offices.

Farm Toy Show set

Union Local FFA and FFA Alumni is holding the 27th annual Farm Toy Show March 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Union Local High School. Admission is $3 and those under 12 free. Kiddie pedal pull at 1 p.m., max. weight is 75 pounds. For information, call Corey Betts at 740-484-4112.

Watt Center to have meeting

Watt Center for History & the Arts will meet Wednesday, March 14 at 6 p.m. All are welcome at 511 Watt Avenue for the first monthly meeting of 2018. Plans for a busy year ahead will be discussed.

Genealogy Society to meet

Belmont County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogy Society will meet at the Barnesville Library on March 11 at 3 p.m. in the afternoon. Be aware that the time changes on Saturday March 10. They will planing the summer activities and work plans. This meeting is free to the public and if you are looking for your ancestors for your family tree come. Rock program set

The Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library will be hosting a "Fun Food Rocks" event again on Tuesday, March 13 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the library annex. "Fun Food Rocks" classes are designed for children 5th grade and up. This upcoming class will focus on Spring/Easter snacks and treats. Call the library at 740-425-1651 to register.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast set

B.A.M.A. Men’s Prayer Breakfast, will be Saturday, March 10 at 8 a.m. at the Main Street United Methodist Church, Barnesville.

Cemetery clean up set

Residents are asked to remove grave decorations from all village operated cemeteries in Barnesville. These include: Crestview, Northern, and Southern cemeteries. The Village of Barnesville requests that all decorations are removed by March 15 as part of the annual spring clean up. Decorations not removed by this date will be disposed of by the cemetery staff.

Policy meeting set

The Union Local School District will have a Policy Committee meeting on March 7 at 3:15 p.m. in the Central Office.

Dr. Seuss Party set

The Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library is hosting an after school Dr. Seuss Party on Tuesday, March 13 from 2:45 to 4 p.m. at the Library Annex. Students ages 6 through fourth grade are invited to participate in games, crafts, snacks and lots of Seuss Fun. Longaberger basket fundraiser

Crossed Paws Animal Shelter will have its annual Longaberger basket fundraiser bingo on March 10 at the Woodsfield Fire Department. This year, they are changing it up a bit with not only Longaberger baskets, but also including gift cards as prizes. If anyone with a business or a private citizen would like to sponsor a basket or gift card, it would be greatly appreciated. Country store items are also needed. This is their biggest fundraiser of the year and covers operating expenses.

Trustees to meet

The Board of Goshen Township Trustees, Belmont County, will meet on the first and third Mondays of the month at 4:30 p.m. The meetings are held at the Township Hall, North Main Street, Bethesda. The public is welcome to attend.

Seed saving, planting program set

A seed saving and Plant Propagation 101 is set for March 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Barnesville Library Annex, 611 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville. OSU Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources Educators Dan Lima and Mark Landefeld will provide information on seed storage, germination and plant propagation on a variety of species. School board meeting

Switzerland of Ohio Local School District Board of Education will meet Tuesday, March 13 at 6 p.m. at the Skyvue Elementary School, 33329 Hartshorn Ridge Road, Graysville. 

Spring Job Fair set

Belmont College will be hosting a Spring Job Fair on Monday, April 16 from Noon to 1 p.m. at the Main Campus Location in St. Clairsville. Early access will be provided for Belmont College students and alumni from 11 a.m.to Noon. Representatives from local organizations will be available to meet with prospective candidates regarding full-time employment opportunities. Olney Table Tennis Club tournament

Olney Table Tennis Club will have a tournament on Saturday, April 14; club opens at 9 a.m. and tournament starts at 10 a.m. Entry deadline is April 9. Fee is $10 per event. Spectators welcome. Luncheon will be served. For information, call Jon Thornton at 740-296-4437.

Coin club meets

The Barnesville Coin Club meets the third Sunday of every month, except December. The meetings are open to the public and are located at 229 E. Main St., Barnesville.
