Howard Hanna’s "Breakfast with Santa," conducted Dec. 9 at Lager & Vine, was a success, raising a "significant" amount of money for charity.

Now in its 29th year of dedication to this cause, Howard Hanna Real Estate Services plays a major role in the annual fundraising efforts for The Children’s Free Care Fund. The mission of the CFCF is to help ensure that children from the regions served receive the best possible medical care.

Howard Hanna partners with 14 children’s hospitals in their various markets in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan, Virginia, and New York: Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh; Hershey Medical Center; Hamot ‘Circle of Care’ (Erie, Pa.); Shriners Children’s Hospital of Erie (Erie, Pa.); University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Childrens Hospital; Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital; MetroHealth; Akron Children’s Hospital; C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital (Ann Arbor, Mich.); Nationwide Children’s Hospital (Columbus); Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters (Norfolk, Va.); The Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo/John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital (Buffalo, N.Y.); Golisano Children’s Hospital (Rochester, N.Y.); and Albany Medical Center (Albany, N.Y.).

The 2016 campaign allowed Howard Hanna to present checks totaling more than $1 million to local hospitals. Tallies for the 2017 fundraisers are not in yet, but over the past 28 years, in excess of $14 million has been donated to the cause.

"Children’s hospitals cannot do what they do without the support of the local community," said Howard Hanna’s CEO, Howard W. "Hoddy" Hanna, III. "Your support helps improve the health and well-being of the area children who are faced with disability, disease or chronic conditions. More than ever, children need all of our help."

Howard Hanna’s annual "Breakfast with Santa" has become a Hudson tradition for many and this year’s event included breakfast, raffles, door prizes and visits with Santa. Photographer, Andrew Jordan was on site to capture special moments for families and proceeds from photo purchases were also donated to The Children’s Free Care Fund.

"What a joy it was to see the children’s faces when Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived," said committee member, Dianna Palmeri. "The event was a success because of the tremendous support from Lager & Vine in hosting us, Andrew Jordan Photography for taking pictures, and the many merchants and individuals who so generously contributed to our fundraiser."
