Animals at large
Three dogs ran loose: A Holmes Drive woman, 44, was charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor animals at large after police responded to a report that three dogs were running loose in Heather Lane’s 2200 block during the late morning Dec. 13. Police said they were able to catch the dogs and identified them as belonging to the woman.
Boy left home: A 16-year-old Twinsburg boy was charged with unruliness and violating curfew after his father reported the boy became upset and left their home without permission at about 9 p.m. Dec. 13. Police said the boy was found a few hours later at an unspecified location. He was released to his parents pending notification of a Summit County Juvenile Court date.
Man had gun in vehicle: A Cleveland man, 23, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, both fourth-degree felonies, after police clocked a vehicle the man was a passenger in at 80 mph in a 65 mph zone and stopped it on Interstate 480 at about 1:45 a.m. Dec. 10.
Police said the man had a loaded .22-caliber handgun in his possession. The vehicle's driver, a 30-year-old Maple Heights man, was charged with driving under suspension and speeding. Police said he was also found to have multiple arrest warrants filed against him in Cuyahoga County and both men were taken to Solon City Jail.
Another passenger, a 38-year-old Cleveland man, was cited for an open container violation.
Operating a vehicle
under the influence
Woman stopped near home: A Burridge Circle woman, 58, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and marked lanes after police stopped her vehicle on Twin Hills Drive at Burridge at about 9:45 p.m. Dec. 9. Police said the woman did poorly on the field sobriety tests.
Woman stopped for traffic violations: A 66-year-old Cleveland Heights woman was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content test refusal, marked lanes, weaving and open container after police stopped her vehicle on Abrams Drive near Liberty Road at about 8:50 p.m. Dec. 5. Police said they smelled a strong odor of alcohol on the woman's breath and she did poorly on the field sobriety tests. An open bottle of wine was found in her vehicle, police said.
The woman was taken to Solon City Jail.
Man stopped on interstate: A Cleveland man, 61, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content over the legal limit, marked lanes and weaving after police stopped his vehicle on Interstate 480 westbound at about 11 p.m. Dec. 3. Police said the man did poorly on the field sobriety tests and his BAC level measured at 0.164 percent, more than twice the 0.08-percent legal limit. He was held in Solon City Jail on a 10 percent of $5,000 bond.
Man was at service station: A Lakewood man, 28, was charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor disorderly conduct while intoxicated after a Route 82 service station employee reported at about 1 a.m. Dec. 9 that the man appeared intoxicated and had been at the service station awhile.
Police said they smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the man, he was unsteady, and had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The man said he had been riding with a friend, but got out of his friend’s vehicle during an argument. Police said they offered to let the man call for a ride, but he refused, so they took him to Solon City Jail, where he was held on a 10 percent of $2,000 bond.
Items taken from home: An East Idlewood Drive man reported Dec. 7 that someone took a video game system and some video games totaling nearly $1,100 in value during the previous two weeks. Police said they did not find any signs of forced entry.
Man injured at home: A Haverhill Road man, 38, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor assault after a Twinsburg man reported the Haverhill man assaulted him at the Twinsburg man’s home Dec. 7. Police said the Twinsburg man had a bruise that was swelling under his eye and was bleeding from scratches on his neck.
The Haverhill man was taken to Solon City Jail.
Loud explosion reported: An Anthony Lane man, 21, was cited with discharging fireworks after an unidentified person reported hearing a loud explosion in the area around Patton Street and Waldo Way at about 4:50 p.m. Dec. 3. Police said the man admitted to setting off fireworks in a relative’s back yard and showed police a hole where he had done it, police said.

Grinder and pipe found: A Twinsburg man, 27, was cited with minor misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession after a sheriff’s deputy stopped the man’s vehicle for having only one working headlight on Ravenna Road at about 9:40 p.m. Jan. 1. The deputy said he smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the man's vehicle and found a marijuana grinder and pipe in it. The man was warned for the headlight violation.
Package stolen from porch: An Alexa Court woman reported Dec. 22 that someone took a package containing a $20 stuffed animal after it was delivered to her front porch two days earlier.
Breaking and entering
Items stolen from garage: An employee of a home building firm reported Dec. 13 that someone took miscellaneous electrical components and 10 sets of shutters totaling $1,869 in value from the attached garage of a Megan Meadow Drive home under construction during the previous two days. The sheriff’s office said there were no signs of forced entry.
