TWINSBURG — City Council is seeking civic-minded citizens to fill 17 open seats on municipal boards and commissions.

Applications must be received by March 5 by 4:30 p.m. to be considered. Visit mytwinsburg.com for the form to fill out. Applicants need to apply online. According to the city, "No elected officer or appointed employee of the city, whether engaged full or part-time, shall have any interest in the conduct of their office other than his/her fixed compensation, nor shall the public office be used to promote a monetary advantage or to conflict private interest."

Open positions include:

• Architectural Review Board (2)

Must be a resident of Twinsburg and have no other public office in the municipality. Appointment by Council for a three-year term ending March 31, 2021.

Meetings are the first and third Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m.

• Civil Service Commision (1)

Must be a qualified elector of of Twinsburg residing in the Ccity, and have no other city office or appointment. Appointment by Council for a six-year term ending March 31, 2024.

Meetings are the second Thursday of each month at 8 a.m.

• Environmental commission, (4)

Must be a resident of Twinsburg and a teen in any ward. Appointment by Council for a two-year term ending March 31, 2020.

Meetings are the second Thursday of February, March, April, May, September and October, with planned events throughout the year.

• Gleneagles Advisory Board, (7)

Must be a resident of Twinsburg, and have no other public office in the municipality. Appointment by Council for a two-year term ending March 31, 2020.

• Parks and Recreation Commission, Wards 3, 4 and 5 (3)

Must be a resident of Twinsburg in wards three, four, or five. Appointment by Council for a two-year term ending March 31, 2020.

Meetings are the fourth Thursday of February, April, August and October. Other meeting dates to be added as needed along with other planned events throughout the year.

Council and the mayor hope to hold all interviews March 12 starting at 5:30 pm. Based on the number of applicants, they will continue interviews on March 13 prior to their regularly scheduled council meetings.
