Operating a vehicle under the influence
Man charged following accident: An 18-year-old Glenwood Drive man was charged with misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs, drug possession and failure to control following a one-vehicle accident Nov. 25. No injuries were reported.
Police said they responded to Ravenna Road after another motorist reported the man drove his car off the road over a curb, struck a brick sign and then went across the road near Dodge Intermediate School at about 3:45 p.m. Police said they found the man and his car in a nearby church parking lot. He did poorly on field sobriety tests, police said, and they found a prescription seizure medication in his vehicle that the man allegedly did not have a prescription for. Police said the man was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released to a family member.
Woman stopped for traffic violations: A Haverhill Road woman, 50, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content over the legal limit, open container, marked lanes and a traffic control device violation after police stopped her vehicle on Route 82 at about 10:10 p.m. Nov. 24. Police said the woman’s BAC measured at 0.231 percent, nearly three times the 0.08-percent legal limit. The woman was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.
Man’s license was suspended: A Cleveland man, 34, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content test refusal, driving under suspension, drug paraphernalia possession and weaving after police stopped his vehicle on Chamberlin Road at about 12:55 a.m. Nov. 22. Police said the man’s eyes were red and glassy, his speech was slow and he was slow to react. A marijuana grinder was found in the man’s vehicle, police said. He was taken to Solon City Jail.
Man cited during traffic stop: A Streetsboro man, 21, was cited with minor misdemeanor drug possession after police stopped his vehicle for an unspecified equipment violation in the area of Route 82 and Commons Boulevard at about 4:15 a.m. Nov. 25. Police said they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and found a small amount of suspected marijuana in it.
Man admits having marijuana: A University Heights man, 28, was cited with drug possession, drug paraphernalia possession and weaving after police stopped his vehicle on Interstate 480 at about 12:20 a.m. Police said that when they asked the man if he had anything illegal in his vehicle, he told them he had some marijuana and they then found a small amount of marijuana and a marijuana pipe in the vehicle.
Man allegedly solicited prostitution: A 41-year-old White Ash Trail man and a 32-year-old Cleveland woman were each charged with two counts of fifth-degree felony drug possession and second-degree misdemeanor possession of drug abuse instruments after police responded to an unfounded report of a woman being held at gunpoint at the man’s home Nov. 23. The man and woman were also charged respectively with soliciting prostitution and prostitution, both third-degree misdemeanors. Police said they found suspected cocaine and heroin and a syringe at the home. Both were taken to Solon City Jail.
Wallet stolen from car: A Twinsburg man reported someone took his wallet from his unlocked car while it was parked outside the Twinsburg Fitness Center on Ravenna Road in the early morning Nov. 22. Police said the wallet contained credit cards, a driver’s license and a Social Security card. No fraudulent transactions to the credit cards were reported.
Doors pounded on: A Darien Lane woman reported some unidentified men pounded on her home’s front and rear doors in the afternoon Nov. 22.
