The Stow Police Department is taking part in the annual Shop With A Cop program, during which police officers from a number of area police departments will accompany children as they shop for Christmas gifts for family, themselves or both at the Stow Target store on Route 59 on Dec. 16.

Funds are being raised through donations and the sale of $5 raffle tickets. Raffle prizes, which are donated, include:

• The Silver Lake Country Club donated a golf outing for four and lunch.

• Hibachi Japan and the Sheraton Suites partnered together and donated a date night — dinner for two, a wine basket and a room at the Sheraton for the night.

• The Cuyahoga Falls Police Department donated an Xbox One S.

To donate or purchase raffle tickets, go to the Stow Police Department at 3800 Darrow Road, accessible via Louis A. Dirker Jr. Boulevard, or contact Sgt. Heather Prusha at 330-689-5700.

All of the money raised goes toward the program.

Police volunteers and the children will meet at Stow-Munroe Falls High School at 9:15 a.m. for breakfast, photos and a chance to visit with Santa Claus. It's also when police will hand out the gift cards and do the raffle drawing. At approximately 10 a.m., police and the children will head for the cruisers and everyone will caravan out of the parking lot, head west on Graham Road, south on Fishcreek Road and west on Kent Road until they reach the Target parking lot.

Accompanied by a police officer, each child will have $100 on a Target gift card to spend.
