Stow-Munroe Falls City School District is accepting donations for the Giveback Challenge issued to Stow-Munroe Falls High School and St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. The boys and girls basketball teams will compete this year in the annual Wingfoots Classic Challenge on Sunday, Dec. 17.

Leading up to the Sunday games, the students from each school will be competing in another way: to see who can collect the most hat, glove and sock donations in a Giveback Challenge. The challenge is hosted by the Lebron James Family Foundation and Goodyear.

On Saturday, Dec. 16, a “black ops” team will be delivering a giant crate to the Stow-Munroe Falls High School parking lot between 9-10 a.m. They will also be delivering a countdown clock that will give the school 3.5 hours to fill the crate, at which point the "black ops" team will come back, lock the crate and haul it away.

To prepare, Stow-Munroe Falls High School is working on collecting donations to fill the crate. Here’s how you can help:

If you are a parent with a student in the district, send your donations to school with your child. All school buildings have donation boxes beginning.

Community members and local businesses are encouraged to come to Stow-Munroe Falls High School on Saturday, Dec. 16 to make their donations. The school is located at 3227 E. Graham Road in Stow.

The winning school will be announced during the boys basketball game on Sunday, Dec. 17. The donations will go to children in James’ I Promise program.
