There are many ways to say "Happy Holidays" with a local touch.

The Friends of the Library and Twinsburg Historical Society will both conduct sales Dec. 9 (the last sale of the year for the Friends of the Library). The two shops are a short hop apart. The library is on Ravenna Road across from the Twinsburg Fire Station and the Twinsburg Historical Museum is on the corner of Routes 82 and 91, next to Mr. Chicken. Both sales run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Friends store will have a special preview Dec. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. and again Dec. 9 from 9 to 10 a.m. These hours are reserved for members only but people can purchase a membership on the spot.

Most books, except for those marked premium and vintage and certain children’s books, are only 10 cents.  The Friends also have a gift card that is good for everything in the shop. Ten dollars could be 10 books, some cute earrings and a scented candle. The gift shop has a selection of handmade jewelry at low prices, and there are many novelty pieces available.

At the Twinsburg Historical Society, pick up the just-published book "Beyond the Monument" by local author Veronica Hughes. Read all about the brave individuals who fought in the Civil War — those who fought and returned and those who never came home. Author Dale Diersing’s book is also available.

The society offers a collection of wooden replicas of some of the landmark buildings, many that are no longer here. The society is able to take credit cards for purchases higher than $10. They take checks as well.
