Receiving stolen property: A 21-year-old Akron man pleaded not guilty to fifth-degree felony receiving stolen property at his Nov. 29 arraignment in connection with an allegation that he had a cell phone valued at a little over $1,000 that had been reported stolen from an Enterprise Parkway business, according to Stow Municipal Court records.

According to a Summit County Sheriff's report, an employee of the business reported Oct. 19 that someone stole a package containing the cell phone after it was delivered to the business in late September. The employee said it was then discovered that the Akron man had briefly activated the phone on his own account.

The sheriff's office said an arrest warrant was issued for the man. The man was released on a personal bond after his arraignment.

Arrest warrant

Woman turns herself in: A Windham woman, 24, wanted by the Summit County Sheriff's Office on a fifth-degree felony drug possession charge, turned herself in at the sheriff's Twinsburg Township office Nov. 13. The woman was taken to Summit County Jail.

Property damage

Business reported storm damage: An employee of an Enterprise Parkway business reported that a severe storm caused damage to a warehouse garage door, two interior walls and six industrial containers during the early evening Nov. 5. According to a Summit County sheriff's report, cost of the damages was unknown.

Pumpkin thrown through window: A Rugby Street woman reported someone took a carved pumpkin from her home's front deck and threw it through her front window, shattering a single window pane, at a little after 9 p.m. Oct. 29. The sheriff's office said there were no suspects and the damage cost was unknown.

Drug possession

K-9 indicates presence of drug: A Lakewood man, 25, was cited with marijuana possession and speeding after he was stopped on Interstate 480 westbound at about 10:40 p.m. Nov. 3. According to a sheriff's report, because the man was seen making "furtive movements" in his vehicle, a Twinsburg K-9 officer was called in and after his dog indicated the possible presence of drugs in the vehicle, a small amount of suspected marijuana was found.

Domestic violence

Man allegedly punched and choked: A 52-year-old Twinsburg Township man was charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence after another man in his household reported the man punched him in the chest and choked him from behind during an argument at their home Oct. 28. The man was taken to Summit County Jail. Injuries to the other man were not described in a sheriff's report.

Suspicious person

Suspect spoke to girl: A Twinsburg Township woman reported that an unknown male drove up while her 13-year-old daughter was outside their home at about 3 p.m. Oct. 25 and said "we're going to have fun" to the girl. The woman said the girl ran into their home and locked the door. The male drove away and the girl called her mother.
