Music from The Western Reserve is excited to bring talented chamber music to Hudson once again. The third concert of the 2017-18 season is Ensemble HD, performing Nov. 12 at 5 p.m. Christ Church Episcopal (21 Aurora Street) in Hudson.

Ensemble HD is a chamber group comprising Cleveland Orchestra members Joshua Smith, flute; Joanna Patterson Zakany, viola; Amy Lee, violin; Frank Rosenwein, oboe; and Charles Bernard, cello. These orchestra members are joined by friend Christina Dahl on piano.

Founded in 2009, Ensemble HD first performed at Happy Dog, a local corner tavern located on Cleveland’s west side in the Gordon Square Arts District. Their goal is to bring classical music to a new audience of all ages. Smith and his group have continued to explore new ways to bring classical music to a broader audience by performing at other non-traditional venues such as restaurants, parks, festivals and schools. They do also, however, perform at concert halls and churches around the region.

Ensemble HD will perform works by Duruflé, Martinu and Fauré. The music is sure to ring through the superb acoustical setting of Christ Church Episcopal.

"Every musician who plays there for us is awed by the acoustics," says Nancy Dotson, president of Music from The Western Reserve.

There will be a meet-the-artist reception immediately following the concert. Single Tickets $20 and Student Admission free. Tickets can be purchased at, the Learned Owl Book Shop at 204 N. Main Street in Hudson, or at the door the evening of the concert.
