HUDSON — Sedan or Van Transportation, a private car/van service, wanted to Drive Away Hunger, and the residents of Hudson responded by pushing the pedal to the metal and donating more than 500 pounds of food.

The company parked its minibus on Hudson’s Green Oct. 26 to collect food and donations as part of the inaugural Drive Away Hunger Food Drive. All donations and food items were dropped off at the Hudson Community Service Association’s Food Pantry, where they will be distributed to Hudson families.

"We’ve been serving the Hudson community for five years, and we knew this community was generous," said Jeff Adelman, president of Sedan or Van Transportation. "They proved it again with this food drive. With the weather getting cold, it’s nice to know that all the donations will help nourish families and children in Hudson.

"We can’t wait to do this again and give back to our community."

Launched five years ago, Sedan or Van Transportation offers car and van service to local individuals and businesses.
