Hudson Presbyterian Church, 201 W Streetsboro Street, announces the appointment of Lewis A. Kocher as the new director of music ministries.
Kocher, who came to Ohio from Chautauqua County, N.Y., has a long and varied background in liturgical music directing, including work in churches at the Chautauqua Institution, where he introduced his Celtic Vespers services. As a prolific published composer, many of his works can be seen on YouTube as recorded by ensembles throughout the U.S. and the world.
As a music teacher, Kocher has been on the American College of Musicians national honor roll and has taught both privately and at the D’Angelo Conservatory of Music, Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pa. He is also a gallery-represented artist and a freelance writer.
Lewis has a passion for leading others to Jesus through worship music, and will take Hudson Presbyterian Church in new musical directions. He will also help the church reach out to the local arts community.
Hudson Presbyterian officials are excited to have Kocher as the newest staff person and member of the Church family. Services at Hudson Presbyterian are 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. every Sunday.
