MACEDONIA — Police say they are investigating after someone fired a bullet through a window of a Lancewood Drive home Oct. 29.

Police responded to the home after a man reported that while housesitting his son's home, he heard something that sounded like a picture falling off a wall at a little after 1 a.m.

The man said that when he went to investigate, he found a bullet hole in a rear kitchen window, a bullet on the floor and damage to the ceiling. Police said they believe the bullet, which appeared to be a 9 mm, was fired at an upward angle through the window, which is about 8 to 10 feet above the ground. It then appeared that the bullet struck the ceiling before dropping to the floor.

Police said they searched a wooded area behind the home with police K-9 Haro, but nothing was found, including a bullet casing. A man throwing a party at a home on the other side of the wooded area told police that he had not heard anything, but several of his guests told him they had heard a gunshot, became concerned and left the party.

Police Lt. Vince Yakopovich said Nov. 3 that an investigation is "ongoing," with police talking to people who attended the party.
