Four Nordonia Hills Middle School students organized the "Simply Hygiene 5K Fun Run" on May 21 and raised $1,045 for the Emergency Assistance Center food pantry in Northfield Center. The proceeds are being used to support the personal hygiene and care section at the center. The center in June served 884 individuals, which includes 281 households with 301 children and 163 senior citizens.

The center in June obtained tax figures that show it spent 94.9 cents of every dollar donated on client services, meaning only 5.1 percent was used for the organizations overhead.

In 2017 TEAC is celebrating 25 years of service to the community and is hosting a gala at the Twinsburg Hilton Garden Inn Sept. 23 to celebrate. Ticket information will be posted online at
