Hudson - Treasure seekers descended on Fun at First & Main July 5 in an event sponsored by Akron Children's Hospital and Northeast Ohio Parent magazine.

"We are thankful to the city of Hudson and First and Main for allowing us to host the event series here this summer," said Brad Mitchell, owner and publisher of Northeast Ohio Parent magazine. "I'm glad for such a great turn out and our third and final event is August 2 called Water Fun."

The free event is for parents and children from 2 to 9 years old and provides a variety of games and information on local organizations. Music was provided by 95.5 THE FISH.

"It's been greatly attended by the Hudson community and lots of families," according to Courtney Hudson, community outreach and education coordinator for Akron Children's Hospital. "It provides a wonderful fun and educational day out for kids and their families."

Children could receive glitter tattoos by 5 Star Talent, balloon creations by Cool Balloon Creations, dig for treasure in the sand at the Pre-K Immaculate Heart of Mary table, spin the Wheel of Fun for prizes at the Summit DD table, paint rocks with NE Ohio Rocks! and sit in a Hudson fire truck.

For the Treasure Hunt, parents and children asked questions of the vendors such as "How old is Bubbles?" at the Goldfish Swim School or "How old do you have to be to start dancing with you?" at the Hudson Conservatory of Ballet.

The winner of the Treasure Hunt drawing won a large container of prizes donated by the vendors and included four VIP tickets to Marvel Universe Live! Age of Heroes; four Cedar Point tickets, four Gladiator tickets, gift cards, T-shirts and more.

Other vendors included Empowering Epilepsy, Heritage Classical Academy, Hudson Community Education and Recreation, Ohio State Waterproofing, Sit means Sit dog training, the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, Dr. Gen Orthodontics and Old Trail School.

The final Fun at First & Main event for 2017 is Aug. 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. And will have a water fun theme.

Registration for the August event begins July 11.
