Teacher gets pact

At a special meeting July 6, the Aurora Board of Education awarded a one-year contract to Cara B. Morelos for a full-time teaching position at Craddock School for 2017-18. She will be paid at the masters degree plus 20 hours, Step 10 level.

Fittings are slated

Uniform fittings for Aurora High band members will take place during the week of July 1. Fitting dates are based on the first letter of the participant's last name. The fitting dates are as follows: July 17 -- names from A to F; July 18 -- names from G to K; July 19 -- names from L to R; and July 20 -- names from S to Z.

Supplies sale info

Parents can purchase prepackaged school supplies for the coming school year through School Tool Bo at www.schooltoolbox.com The sale ends July 29.

Buyers have the option to customize their orders by adding or removing items from the teacher-approved list. School Tool Box will donate one meal for each box sold to Feed My Starving Children. Address questions to Vanessa Fabec at 440-655-0538 or vanessafabec@gmail.com.

Aurora's school supply lists for grades preschool to 8 are available online at www.aurora-schools.org. There is no school supply list for Aurora High students. Each teacher will inform their students as to what materials they will need for class at either new student orientation or the first day of class.

Office hours told

A reminder to parents of students in the Aurora schools that the Miller, Craddock, Leighton and Harmon schools offices are closed during the month of July.

Aurora High's office and the Board of Education offices are open Mondays to Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., but closed Fridays until July 28.

If registration is needed on a Friday when the Board offices are closed, call 330-954-2228 to make arrangements.
