2 LEARN SOME LOCAL HISTORY

The Historical Society of Olde Northfield is opening the Palmer House Museum for visitors from 2 to 4 p.m. on July 9 and 23, and Aug. 13 and 27. Society members will be available to discuss area history and artifacts on display at one of the area's first frame homes, located next to Northfield Elementary School at 9390 Olde Eight Road in Northfield Center.

3 MAKE A DONATION: The Dolphin Restaurant in Northfield Village is a collection site for non-perishable good and toiletries for the Emergency Assistance Center and for new toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program through July 8. 4 ATTEND A LECTURE: Find out what Robert E. Lee hoped to accomplish for his country and the cause by marching north into Pennsylvania. Historian Paul Goebbel presents the biggest battle of the Civil War from the southern point of view July 6 at 7 p.m. Registration is suggested. Refreshments will be served.
