The Hudson Farmers Market season continues on July 8 with the first ever Mini Maker's Mart.
The Mini Maker's Mart is a chance for children ages 7-14 to bring their original artwork, homemade crafts, veggies, flowers or plants that they have helped grow and sell them at the Hudson Farmers Market. On these special Mini-Market days, children can set up by 9am and sell through 12:30 p.m. It's a great way for younger children in our community to earn their own money and have fun.
Participants must apply and there is a $5 fee to participate. Space is limited, so don't wait too long to apply. Parents are required to sign a simple agreement including a photo release to participate.
Mini Marketers must bring their own cash for making change and signs for their items. They will also need a table, and if they would like cover or want to define their sales space, they may bring a up to a ten by ten foot canopy with eight to ten pound weights for each leg of the canopy. Tent stakes aren't allowed on the Green and weights are required.
Parental supervision is also required at all times. The Hudson Farmers Market cannot assume any liability for children participating in the Mini Market. Organizers only cancel the market when there is thunder or lightning, so the Mini Maker's Mart will be held rain or shine.
For more information or to apply, send an email to the market manager, J Hudson at info:hudsonfarmersmarket.org with pictures of your art, crafts or plants that you'd like to sell, along with a description of your product, and your name, age, parent name, and contact info.
The Hudson Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. until Oct. 7, on the historic Clock Tower Green.
The Hudson Farmers Market is a nonprofit born from a project of Leadership Hudson, a program sponsored by The Rotary Club of Hudson Clock Tower, and a collaboration between community leaders and civic-minded residents. Now in its tenth season, The Hudson Farmers Market is generously sponsored by the Burton D. Morgan Foundation and Hudson Montessori School. The market serves as an incubator to local entrepreneurs and an economic driver to downtown Hudson. With approximately 30 diverse vendors, the Hudson Farmers Market attracts over 20,000 people to downtown Hudson over the summer and autumn seasons.
