Great Clips of Hudson, located in the Acme Plaza, is offering free haircuts to those wishing to donate to the Locks of Love program. Locks of Love accepts donations of hair 10 inches or longer and provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the U.S. and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

The mission statement of Locks of Love is to return a sense of self confidence and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss by utilizing donated ponytails to provide the highest quality hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children.

The children receive hair prostheses free of charge or on a sliding scale, based on financial need. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure.

This is the 10th year Great Clips of Hudson has participated in the Locks of Love program. Last year, The 220 Group Ltd., which in Hudson does business as Great Clips of Hudson, donated over 300 free haircuts for Locks of Love, which needs six to 10 hair donations to create just one hairpiece.

Great Clips of Hudson is a locally-owned, family hair salon located in the Acme Plaza, next to Panera, and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Appointments are never necessary but folks are encouraged to save time by checking in online @ or download the Great Clips app on their smart phone.
