The death of an 87-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man whose body was found in a pond is under investigation, but foul play is not suspected, according to a news release from Falls Police.

On Sunday at approximately 6:55 p.m., Falls Police responded to the 3400 block of Cobblestone Lane, and found the man in a nearby pond, according to the news release. The man, who lived in the 3400 block of Cobblestone Lane, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:15 p.m. and taken to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to both police and the coroner.

Gary Guenther, chief investigator for the coroner's office, said the cause of death was ruled as a "drowning after an apparent natural event related to [the victim's] heart disease."

The manner of death was an accident, Guenther said.
