TWINSBURG -- If you are hurt and need medical care in Twinsburg, rest assured that the city's employees have received emergency training.
This year, more than 90 of the city's non-emergency staff were given training in First Aid, CPR, AED use and fire extinguisher use. The training took place over three days. These photos were taken during the May 4 training, which included staff from the building, service and engineering departments.
Those attending the seven-hour classes earned American Heart Association certifications in First Aid and CPR/AED.
The fire extinguisher training was based on curriculum from the National Fire Protection Association. Instructors for the CPR and First Aid courses came from a pool of certified city staff from the Twinsburg Fire Department and Twinsburg Aquatics Department, which also served as proctors for the hands-on portion of the certification.
The Twinsburg Fire Prevention Bureau conducted the fire extinguisher training using its new state-of-the-art digital laser extinguisher training.
